Citizens' Dog Park Board

    The Citizens' Dog Park Committee was formed in 2016 and provides numerous benefits to the Town.

    • Promotes good canine physical health and socialization;
    • Opportunities to maintain social skills;
    • Fun for pet parents;
      • Accommodates senior citizens and the disabled, who cannot always walk their dog on a leash;
      • Encourages people to exercise and stimulate social interaction with other people;
    • Allows for all dogs to get proper exercise;
    • Promotes responsible dog ownership;
    • Make a better community by promoting public health and safety;
    • Well-exercised dogs are better neighbors who are less likely to create a nuisance, bark excessively
    • Encourages compliance with local leash laws and reduces the number of dogs likely to end up in shelters
    • Discourages delinquent and criminal activity in parks
    • Build tourism and growth for our community;
      • A dog park will entice visitors traveling along Grand Avenue with their pets
      • Surrounding communities may use our park, go to lunch at a local restaurant, or shop in our business district.

The Committee meets every Third Saturday of the month.
